Review by hotel critic
Nestled along the picturesque banks of the River Exe, my recent stay at Mill on the Exe was nothing short of delightful. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Mike, who ensured our comfort with a quick table reservation so we could enjoy some pub grub while we waited for our room to be ready. The suite we settled into boasted beautiful views of a charming weir, framed by lovely sash windows that created a serene atmosphere. I appreciated the thoughtful amenities, including the Nespresso machine for morning coffee and a luxurious shower that provided an invigorating start to my day. Breakfast in the airy conservatory was a treat, although I found the menu could use a bit more vegetarian diversity. The staff's genuine friendliness truly elevated our experience, making this former mill house feel like a cozy home away from home. With its close proximity to Exeter's historic cathedral and lovely walking paths along the river, this boutique hotel is a perfect retreat for both business and leisure travelers alike. it ensures a memorable escape to nature without sacrificing comfort.
